About this site, and a little about me.
My name is Krystyn Heide. I love jukeboxes, curly braces, handclaps, comically false eyelashes, vespas, somersaults, spook show movies, and random acts of kindness.
I'm Senior Product Designer at Squarespace, the best web publishing platform on the planet. I started my career as an Art Director at a major ad agency, where I developed a love for design annuals, paper swatches and the high you get from press checks. Raised by an architectural engineer and an early IBM-er, it wasn't any surprise when I fell hard for web design. In the past decade, I've had the opportunity to create web experiences for major brands, non-profits, new media companies and noteworthy clients.
I love designing and sometimes I can't believe I get paid for it.
Some organizations and people I find inspiring include The Unreasonable Institute, Collaborative Consumption, and this guy from The Sasquatch Music Festival who seems to be on to something. I lost much sleep over Six Feet Under, and have considered writing a long letter to the writers of Battlestar Galactica regarding why they never bothered to explain what the hell exactly happened with Starbuck.
